Like many others we came to this place because Vegan Okonomiyaki Hiroshima style are hard to find. There it's clearly marked on the menu and understood by the owner who was super nice. The place is small and the food is delicious so you might have to wait but 100% worth it! Plus the manga collection was impressive, great selection of series.
Little Okonomiyaki spot, I had a vegetarian version configured on basis of previous recipes and it was super tasty! Also the cook and cook’s support are both just a sweetheart and super polite. On top they accept contactless payments. Definitely a place to enjoy Okonomiyaki Hiroshima or Osaka style :-)
It was very delicious!! Best okonomiyaki I had so far! The okonomiyaki were very customisable, which was nice, and you could even get a vegetarian or a vegan option. They also clean their utensils and workstation a lot, which was nice to see. I had the “double everything” order, which basically meant an XL okonomiyaki. There were both English and Japanese menus, and the staff were also very friendly! The only con was that you are allowed to smoke inside, and I don’t smoke, so I did not really like the smell of tobacco inside. Fortunately I almost finished my okonomiyaki when other guests started to light their cigarettes. They also had adequate ventilation, so I did not smell it that much. :) Strong recommendation for both lovers of okonomiyaki and vegetarian/vegan people!
Fantastic Hiroshima style okonomiyaki. The owner was kind and the food was great. The vegetarian / vegan accommodations were plentiful. EDIT: Came back a second time and it was just as good, if not better than the last. The owner is awesome.
Hidden on the second floor is the absolute must visir to all vegans/vegetarians in Hiroshima! The hard-working chef does magic on the grill to prepare the best okonomiyaki in town! They also make okonomiyaki with meat/fish, but vegans are served very well here. They even have vegan mayo! Also, the vegan roll is a must-have! Don't miss out on it it's so good!!! The chef uses different tools for meat/fish and vegetarian/vegan meals. Surprisingly, the vegan vanilla ice cream is rich and flavorful as well.
A one of a kind experience. I came here looking to indulge in a first time visit to the local treasure, Okonomiyaki. The chef is a warm guy who appears to enjoy his craft and fostering connection through hosting guests from all walks of life. He works deliberately and passionately in his open style kitchen where he whips up warm comfort foods for people from around the world. I came in solo and enjoyed the vegetarian option for Okonomiyaki, which is layers of delight including spicy ramen noodle, cabbage, shiso leaf, bean sprout, scallion and egg. The sauce he makes is what ties is all together. The place has few seats, is quaint and cozy, and on a good day you’ll be able to sit at the bar and dive into a Japanese baseball game while the chef cooks and watches with you as you slowly eat and appreciate your dish sharing on top the corner of his hot stove top where he cooks for the guests. These are the memories that last, This is what it’s all about. Unpretentious and unique in its own. (You may need to pop in a day early to reserve a table.)
Amazing food and atmosphere, everything cooked on the flat top and keeps hot, even at the tables. So good we ordered twice and again to takeaway. Vegan and vegetarian options are accommodated (one of us was veggie) for but bare in mind it's a single flat top. (It is cleaned and the chef uses different cooking utensils)
After a hike in Miyajima, I stopped by this restaurant but found it was full. They took my name and asked me to return in half an hour, which I did—and it was well worth the wait! The Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and starter were absolutely delicious. Huge thanks to the chef for making Japanese food accessible to vegetarians, carefully cleaning surfaces after use, and using separate utensils—something I really appreciate. He even had a special vegan sauce on the side, which was such a thoughtful touch! Oh, and I couldn’t help but admire the "One Piece" manga collection used as decoration... slightly jealous!
